Here in the Gateway Student Success Center, we strive to provide students with the tools and knowledge necessary to succeed once they leave the university, but often times there is information that can only be attained through being a professional in the field. As faculty members with this experience, you can offer valuable insight to the real world specific to a students chosen major.
When giving career advice to students, you may wish to also reference the many services offered by the GSSC.
When students come to you asking for help finding a career, you can refer them to Gateway Connects while referencing specific career paths and other goals that may be beneficial.
Our office also maintains Careers by Major forms that list possible career paths for students.
We also offer various Career Services to help with resumes and cover letter writing, preparing for job interviews, and also strategies to assist in searching for jobs.
