Have You Declared Your Major?

SIGI3

The first stop on your journey should be an examination or self-assessment of your interests.

  • What types of things excite you?
  • What types of jobs or careers appeal to you?
  • What are your strengths?
  • What do you value in a workplace setting?

A great resource to help you with your self-evaluation is SIGI3. As a student of Northern Arizona University you have access to SIGI3, an on-line career planning and major exploration system.  Among the features offered on SIGI3 you will find tools to help you research occupations, find a major, and evaluate your interests, skills, values and personality. You will need to log in with your LOUIE login, and then create a SIGI3 ID and password.

Occupational Information Network

Another great source of information is the Occupational Information Network. The Occupational Information Network serves as the nation's primary source of occupational information, providing comprehensive information on key attributes and characteristics of workers and occupations.

Visit the Occupational Information Network’s website to research careers that are in-demand, learn about skills required for a career field, and find occupations that fit your abilities and values.
