Update Calendar
Instructors send updates on your academic progress at 3 points during the semester. Each point is a critical decision making period for managing your GPA and/or your good academic standing.
Fall 2009
Update periods are highlighted in yellow
September 18th - Last day to drop a class without a "W" on your transcript.
October 23rd - Last day to drop class with a "W" on your transcript without a petition.
November 30th - Last day to withdraw from all classes for the term.
Spring 2010
Update periods are highlighted in yellow
February 5th - Last day to drop class without a "W" on your transcript.
March 12th - Last day to drop class with a "W" on your transcript without a petition.
April 23rd - Last day to withdraw from all classes for the term.
A "W" indicates withdrawal from a course on your university transcript
Dropping a course can help you maintain your overall GPA.
But you must also consider "full-time student" enrollment requirements for other eligibilities such as
- Financial aid (of any kind)
- On-campus housing
- Participation eligibility for athletics, clubs, programs
- Personal insurance
Some of these programs monitor enrollment by the term, while others monitor by the academic year. And "full-time" status can range from 9 to 15 units per term depending upon the program. Speak with an appropriate representative about enrollment requirements.
Speak with an advisor about possible options if you can't drop a course or if you need to add courses to meet program requirements. Also review "Dropping a Course" in the Academic Catalog
