Community Services

Community Training

In-service training is developed and made available statewide to service agencies, administrators, professionals, paraprofessionals, consumers and family members on a wide range of subjects that affect the lives of persons with disabilities.

Technical Assistance

IHD offers technical assistance to program administrators, service providers and individuals with disabilities. Technical assistance may consist of the development and implementation of needs assessment studies, websites, research design and data analysis, program evaluation, disability training curricula, policy analysis studies, strategic plans, grant applications and program and grant management.

Direct Services

IHD provides direct services through contracts with state service agencies that include early childhood assessment and intervention, assistive technology assessment, and orientation and mobility instruction for adults who are visually impaired. In addition to addressing specific community needs, direct services provide IHD with rich, real life settings for trainee practicum placements that address its interdisciplinary training and research mission.
