You may pursue the following graduate academic plans through the Institute for Human Development:

• Interdisciplinary Certificate Program in Positive Behavior Support

We offer these academic plans to train you in interdisciplinary settings and models and to prepare you to enter the fields of disabilities.

Our plans of study are useful if you are preparing for or are practicing in the disciplines of psychology, educational psychology, education, special education, sociology, physical therapy, speech pathology and audiology, nursing, engineering, political science, or a related discipline.

The Institute for Human Development was established in 1967. Today it is concerned with disabilities of all types that occur throughout the lifespan. As a federally funded University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, the institute provides interdisciplinary training, technical assistance, model service demonstration, research evaluation, and dissemination activities for persons with disabilities. Its areas of strength are family-focused services, early childhood, assistive technology, multicultural diversity, and positive behavior supports.
