NAU astronomers, used to peering deep into space, only had to look in their own front yard for funding for a new 20-inch telescope.

Finding funding workshop
Faculty and staff can attend a workshop to identify funding for research, training and other sponsored activities including both online and NAU internal resources. The "Finding Funding" workshop will be offered from 2-4 p.m. Oct. 3, Nov. 13 and Dec. 12. The workshops are free but registration is required. To register, send an e-mail to OGCS@nau.edu.
Congressional candidates to debate tonight
A debate featuring the candidates for Arizona's Congressional District 1 will begin at 7 p.m. today, Oct. 1, in Cline Library Assembly Hall. Scheduled to participate are Republican Sydney Hay, Democrat Ann Kirkpatrick, Independent Brent Maupin and Libertarian Thane Eichenauer.
