Will China run out of water?
Chunmiao Zheng, water expert and lecturer from the University of Alabama, will discuss "Will China Run out of Water" in a Flagstaff Earth Sciences Seminar at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, in room 103 of the Geology building. The Arizona Water Institute and the Arizona Hydrological Society are cosponsoring the seminar.
Book discussion scheduled
Gioia Woods, associate professor of humanities, will lead an Art Spiegelman book discussion at 7 p.m. Jan 22 on the third floor of the Riles Building.

Six prominent Arizona writers will be at the NAU Bookstore to sign copies of their works from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22.
Wig out on a free game
NAU Athletics invites all NAU faculty and staff to the men’s basketball game against Idaho State at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22. Show your NAU ID at the box office and receive free admission to the game. It is also “Wig Out Night” in the Skydome so if you have any crazy wigs be sure to wear them.
National Teach-In on Climate Change
The 2009 National Teach-In on Climate Change will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at the du Bois Conference Center. President Haeger will deliver the keynote address and there will be lectures by professors, members of local government and students. The goals are to "educate, activate and legislate" in an effort to fight climate change. The event is open to the public.
