Incoming stimulus funds mitigate furlough days

Northern Arizona University employees whose salaries are less than $40,000 a year are responsible for taking one day and those whose salaries are $40,000 or more are responsible for three days.

 

Progressive NAU-Yavapai venture taking root
Administrators from Northern Arizona University and Yavapai College gathered in Flagstaff on Monday to begin solidifying a plan to offer four-year NAU degrees through Yavapai.



Normal business hours resume Aug. 17
One week before fall classes begin, and the same week students arrive on campus, NAU will resume standard business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

NAU welcomes Cardinals fans to Saturday's Red & White practice
Don't miss the Arizona Cardinals special Red & White outdoor practice from 11:30 a.m. to 1:20 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, on the grass fields adjacent to the Walkup Skydome. The practice will be preceded by a full-team autograph session inside the Skydome for children 12 and younger from 10:45 to 11:05 a.m. in the Skydome and conclude with a live goal-line session. The events are part of the Cardinals annual summer training camp on the NAU campus. For a complete schedule, click here.

  Young Cardinals fans from Phoenix practiced their plays during a visit yesterday to NAU.
The students toured campus and caught the Cardinals afternoon practice. The fifth- through eighth-graders attend the Arizona Cardinals Preparatory Academy—a school funded by Cardinals Charities to help disadvantaged youth to succeed.

Kathleen Carpenter and Jennifer Beltz graduated from the Flagstaff Leadership Program in June.

The Program in Intensive English in the Department of English was one of six schools selected by the Educational Testing Service to participate in a study that investigates the validity of the use of the Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language scores for English as a Second Language placement decisions.
