Vol. 3 No. 25 | June 21, 2006

Users will know their computers have successfully received the antivirus conversion when the Sophos logo (left) appears in their computer task bar instead of the red McAfee shield.

Antivirus software conversion in progress

The campus-wide transition to Sophos antivirus software is occurring this week. Restarting your computer will initialize the removal of McAfee and installation of Sophos.

It is recommended that you either restart or shutdown your computer tonight when you go home. When you restart your computer in the morning, you will see both the McAfee and Sophos shield icons in the taskbar. The McAfee icon will disappear shortly, and the Sophos icon will continue to flash blue and green until the installation and updates are complete.

This update will affect staff and faculty Windows computers on the NAU domain only.
