Flagstaff's festive Fourth wants you Celebrate Flagstaff's Independence Day festivities this year by marching in the Fourth of July parade with NAU. "We need NAU people in the parade because we are a major part of the community," said Molly Munger, director of community relations. "We encourage faculty, staff, students and alumni to join the fun. How often in your life do you get to be in a parade?" Last year's parade attracted a crowd of more than 10,000 downtown and 100 parade entries. About 200 NAU representatives joined the handmade floats, musicians, clowns, cowboys and cowgirls, antique cars, politicians and children scrambling for free candy. NAU's parade float celebrates the beauty of America and features the San Francisco Peaks. "Many departments create and carry banners, but all you have to do is wear NAU blue and show up," Munger said. The parade starts at 10 a.m. July 4. Families and friends are invited to parade with you. Interested marchers should contact Munger at (928) 523-5518 or e-mail Molly.Munger@nau.edu.
