Topics most people avoid at family gatherings are the basis for a series of interactive video lectures presented by the NAU Honors Program. Four interactive video presentations will explore how issues such as money, gender, war and nonviolence relate to the global dynamics of power. The 2006 Honors Satellite Seminar Seires—Gold, Gods and Glory: The Global Dynamics of Power—kicks off with relationship expert Pepper Schwartz and her seminar, "Gender and Power in Relationships," at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 26 in NAU's Liberal Arts building, room 135. The author of 14 books, including Everything You Know About Love and Sex is Wrong and Ten Talks Parents Must Have with their Children about Sex and Character, Schwartz has also written for the New York Times "Parent and Child" column, co-authored Glamour magazine's monthly column "Sex and Health," and penned American Baby magazine's column "Talking About Sex." The four-part lecture series is co-produced by Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society and the National Collegiate Honors Council.
