Ask 'Inside'
Inside NAU continues to answer questions of general interest on any topic. Today we address a question about the faculty, staff and student accomplishments listed in Inside NAU's 'Spotlights' section.
QUESTION: I would like to note that I have yet to see these publications ever include any articles or books published by anyone in the Social and Behavioral Sciences. Also, it does not note when any of those professors or students attend conferences and present their paper while it lovingly notes anything done through the education department, the library, or any of the natural sciences. Please stop ignoring a good portion of your employees and students, we should be discussed in terms of the good our programs do. Ignoring those accolades just makes the departments look like they are not accomplishing anything when they really are and may guide certain students to not want to attend NAU.
ANSWER: Inside NAU relies on faculty and staff to supply us with information regarding their accomplishments, including books, papers, conferences, etc. We print these notables in our 'Spotlight' section that runs every week. Submissions can be made to Inside@nau.edu.
