Susan Schroeder named interim vice president President John Haeger appointed Susan Schroeder today as interim vice president for University Advancement. Schroeder will assume her new role when current Vice President Molly Williams departs Nov. 9 for the Colorado School of Mines. Schroeder currently serves as associate vice president for University Advancement, a position she has held since 2004. "I'm extremely pleased to have someone of Susan's talent and experience lead our advancement and alumni teams as we prepare for a new phase in our efforts of relationship-building and investment in Northern Arizona University," Haeger said. The university will launch a national search for a permanent vice president this fall, he noted. The role of interim vice president is not new for Schroeder, who served in a similar capacity in 2003. "I look forward to continuing the momentum of fostering relationships with alumni and friends to advance the university," Schroeder said. "I know there are many people on and off campus who will help make my job easier because of their willingness to support our efforts." Schroeder joined NAU in 1990 and has more than 25 years of experience in the fundraising and grant fields. She began working in development at NAU in 1996 as the first development officer in the College of Arts and Sciences. She then served as the development director of environmental and Strategic Initiatives. Prior to her positions in University Advancement, Schroeder served as a grant administrator at NAU, focusing on science and engineering programs and Native American initiatives. She began her career in Salt Lake City as a business partner for a research and planning consulting firm that concentrated on tourism and rural economic development. |
