NAU in Prescott, South Mountain to host Partnership Days Northern Arizona University and two community colleges will host Partnership Days to introduce students to NAU programs available in their areas. NAU and Yavapai College will host Partnership Day from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, in the Yavapai College Student Services building in Prescott. South Mountain Community College and NAU will host Partnership Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at the South Mountain campus, 7050 S. 24th St., Phoenix. In Prescott, students and the public will have the opportunity to meet NAU and Yavapai faculty and advisers and learn about NAU degrees offered at Yavapai College campuses in both Prescott and Verde Valley and the new dual admissions program. Fred Hurst, vice president of Extended Programs and dean of Distance Learning, and Utpal Goswami, Yavapai College provost and vice president of Student Affairs, will speak at the reception at about 5:30 p.m. Both institutions will formally launch a dual admissions program in the spring. The program will guarantee Yavapai students a spot at NAU after successful completion of their first two years of community college coursework. At South Mountain Community College the community will be invited to tour the new NAU building as well as raise visibility for NAU programs offered. The 3,000-square-foot NAU facility opened for classes Aug. 13. It has three classrooms and several faculty offices. Hurst is scheduled to address visitors at this event, as well. |
