  • Ellen Riek and Kathryn Sheridan, both instructors in the Honors Program, have had their manuscript, "Setting the Table for Diversity," accepted as the lead article in the upcoming National Collegiate Honors Council monograph on diversity. The council is the professional organization composed of honors programs and colleges across the United States.
  • Sculpture student Erica Damman, under the mentorship of Shawn Skabelund, lecturer in the School of Art, will have a collaborative exhibit, "Wandering Headless through Eternity," displayed Nov. 20 through Dec. 20 at the Cochise College Art Gallery in Douglas. The exhibit is the culmination of months of historical research on white dominance of Native Americans.

    Damman also will have a senior art show highlighting consumerism and sweat shops with evening gowns made of clothing labels. The show, "Elegant Dissonance," opens Nov. 5 from 7-9 p.m. at The W.A. Franke College of Business and will be held in conjunction with a viewing of the film, Made in L.A.
  • Mary I. Dereshiwsky, associate professor of educational leadership, had three articles published in Learning Resource Network publications over the past month. "Tips for Successfully Communicating with Online Students about Grades" was published in the September issue of LERN Magazine. "Tips for Marking up Student Papers in Online Courses" and "Benefits of an Online Peer Help Desk" were published in the E-LERN newsletter.
