'Blizzard Games' set for fall schedule

NAU student athletes are asking Lumberjack fans to show support by wearing white to select NAU athletic events, starting Saturday, Oct. 6, for a nationally televised volleyball match against Weber State on Fox College Sports, digital cable channel 146 in Flagstaff.

Other "blizzard" dates for the fall include the Oct. 12 soccer game against Montana at Lumberjack Stadium, and football's Family Weekend "blizzard" game Oct. 13 against Idaho State in the Walkup Skydome.

The swimming and diving program will host a "blizzard" meet in the season opener against Idaho and New Mexico State at the Wall Aquatic Center on Nov. 10.

Student athletes have organized the mass white-outs to increase school spirit and boost attendance at NAU athletic events.

"Blizzard" shirts will be given to the first 50 students in attendance at each event.
