Matthew Adam Manegold, a student in the School of Forestry, died Nov. 8 in Flagstaff. He was 28. Mr. Manegold was in his final year at Northern Arizona University where he was scheduled to earn his bachelor's degree. Mr. Manegold graduated in 1998 from Central Catholic High School in Reading, Pa., and then earned an associate's degree in science from Yavapai College in Prescott. A lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed hiking and climbing and is described as a kind and gentle soul whose energy and spirit touched everyone. Mr. Manegold is survived by his parents, Joe and Lynda, of Douglassville, Pa.; a brother, David, of Reading; a sister, Melissa, of Portland, Ore.; grandparents Gerald and Jennie Manegold and Dorothy Adams, all from Reading. A celebration of his life was held Nov. 13 in Pennsylvania. Internment will be at Bradshaw Crematory, 8480 E. Valley Road, Prescott Valley. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott is assisting with services. In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to plant a tree.
