The Center for High Altitude Training has established a fund through the NAU Foundation to receive gifts designated to provide support for elite and emerging elite U.S. runners training in Flagstaff. The fund was established to honor elite marathoner Ryan Shay, who died unexpectedly in New York City on Nov. 3 during the 26.2-mile qualifier for the Beijing Olympic Games. He was 28. Shay trained in Flagstaff through NAU's Center for High Altitude Training.
