| NAU Bookstore hosting Faculty and Staff Appreciation Days
The NAU Bookstore will pay tribute to NAU faculty and staff during its Faculty and Staff Appreciation Days, Nov. 29 and 30, when they can receive an extra 10 percent discount on select Bookstore merchandise.
As part of the event, three faculty authors will be signing copies of their books from 4-6 p.m. Nov. 29:
| Sylvester Allred, professor of biological sciences, will sign copies of his latest book, Rascal: The Tassle Eared Squirrel. A researcher of tassel-eared squirrel ecology for the many years, Allred observed many of the events in the book while studying squirrels in the ponderosa pine forests. |
 |
| Wendell Duffield, adjunct research professor of geology, will sign copies of his books, Volcanoes of Northern Arizona, When Pele Stirs, Chasing Lava and Yucca Mountain Dirty Bomb. Before coming to NAU, Duffield worked for the U.S. Geological Survey studying volcanoes for 32 years. |
 |
| Eric Meeks, associate history professor, will sign copies of his new book, Border Citizens: The Making of Indians, Mexicans and Anglos in Arizona. Meeks' book aims to connect the construction of racial categories and ethnic identities and shows how ethnicity can both bring people together and drive them apart. |
