- Bill Wiist, chair and professor of health sciences, presented a paper, "Corporate Strategies to Influence Trade and Health Policies," during an oral scientific session of the Trade and Health Forum at the annual meeting of the American Public Health Association. The meeting was held Nov. 3-7 in Washington, D.C., and was attended by 14,000 public health practitioners, academics, researchers and policy makers. Wiist is the program planner for the Trade and Health Forum for the association's 2008 meeting to be held Oct. 25-29 in San Diego.
- J. Judson Wynne, cave research scientist with Merriam-Powell Center for Environmental Research and NAU doctoral student in biology, has been invited to give a seminar on cave ecological inventory at the Bureau of Land Management/National Park Service National Cave and Karst Resource Management Training Course in Las Vegas, Dec. 3-7.
