  • Rodrigo De Toledo, assistant professor of visual communication, won an international award at the Energy Gallery Spring Salon 2007, Toronto, Canada, where his artwork will be shown in April. During 2006, Rodrigo exhibited his work in a series of international shows: FILE 2006 Rio De Janeiro, Brazil; Mostra Internacional de Arte Digital, Venado Tuerto, Argentina; and Contained Art, Zurich, Switzerland.
  • Two Honors students, Marissa Hauk from Buckeye, Ariz., and Hesham Elnagar from Henderson, Nev., will be presenting at the Western Regional Honors Council in April. Hauk will present a paper titled "A How-To Guide: Honors Ambassadors." Elnagar will lead a roundtable discussion entitled "Diversity of Thought: A Tool in Higher Education."

    The Western Regional Honors Council is the professional organization for honors programs in the 13 states from the Rockies to the Pacific Ocean, including Alaska and Hawaii.
  • A new book edited by Luke Reynolds, a graduate teaching assistant with the English department, has recently been published. Inside Out & Outside In was written by the students of Farmington High School, and is a collection of essays "on the nature and experience of love."
  • Pam Stephens, associate professor of art, was selected by the National Art Education Association to receive the Pacific Region Higher Education Art Educator of the Year Award. This award recognizes the exemplary contributions, service and achievements of one outstanding NAEA member annually at the regional level.
