  • Tom O'Gara, an Honors student from Peoria, Ariz., has had two paintings, "A Soaring Lull" and "Remembering a Lifetime," accepted for publication in Scribendi, the literary magazine of the National Collegiate Honors Council. The council, composed of some 200 institutional and individual members, is the professional organization that serves honors students and professionals, and supports the advancement of honors and undergraduate education.
  • William Wiist, professor and chair of health sciences, will be the principal investigator along with Bruce M. Sullivan, professor of religious studies, Heidi Wayment, chair of psychology, and Meghan Warren, professor of physical therapy, as co-investigators on a recently funded grant titled "The Buddhist Health Study: Phase I of an Interdisciplinary Research Model." They will develop an interdisciplinary model for research on spirituality/religion and health among practitioners of non-Christian religions. Phase I will include a web-based survey of the relationship between spirituality/religion and health among practitioners of Buddhism in the United States.
