Search committee named for vice president of research The national search for a vice president for research is moving forward with the appointment of a search committee by NAU President John Haeger. The committee will work with Isaacson, Miller, a national executive search firm, to promote the position and identify potential candidates. The university hopes to fill the position by July 1. The university has had a vice provost for Research and Graduate Studies, but the dual role will now be separated to focus appropriate attention on both the research and graduate education enterprises. "NAU's research activities have grown tremendously over the last several years," Haeger noted. "We have a highly productive faculty that has resulted in more than an 80 percent increase in research awards since 2000. "We are looking for a candidate who will spearhead the development of a research agenda that will guide the university to a new level of success and prominence among the nation's research universities," he said.
