- Denver Hospodarsky, associate professor in the School of Forestry, recently received the "Forester of the Year" award by the Southwestern Chapter of the Society of American Foresters. The award recognizes Hospodarsky's work with the NAU student chapter of the Society of American Foresters, and his efforts to increase membership in the society's Southwestern section, which covers Arizona and New Mexico.
- Jim Mead, geology professor and director of quaternary sciences, and Richard Quartaroli, Cline Library Special Collections Librarian, were consultants and "talking heads" on Inside Grand Canyon National Park, which premiered on the Travel Channel April 15.
- NAU's Employee Assistance and Wellness office has been named as a 2007 recipient of The Process, Progress, and Leadership in Worksite Health Promotion Award from the Wellness Council of Arizona and the National Partnership for Wellness. Director Betsy Kerr and her staff will be recognized at the council's annual meeting on April 26 in Tucson.
