  • Edith Copley, professor of music and director of choral studies at NAU, conducted a select women's honor choir composed of high school singers from around the world at the Association for Music in International Schools Festival in Luxembourg, March 15-17. She also conducted the grand finale in the Luxembourg Conservatory with a mass choir of 200 voices and the festival honor band.
  • Mary I. Dereshiwsky, associate professor of educational leadership, had an article, "Strengthening Faculty Ties Online" published in the February 2007 issue of LERN magazine, a publication of the Learning Resources Network.
  • Denver Hospodarsky, an associate professor in the School of Forestry, was recently appointed as co-chair of the Certification Review Board for the Society of American Foresters.

    "Staying at forefront of the fundamental changes in the forestry profession is a significant challenge that I look forward to shaping in my role as board co-chair," Hospodarsky said. "Our priorities include bringing the forester certification process in line with relevant national and international certification standards, modernizing the continuing forestry education program, and initiating a new forestry student leadership training program and credential."

    Hospodarsky will co-chair the board for two years with James Foster, principal of Kingwood Forestry Services in Arkansas.
  • Peter Mangan, psychology lecturer, and Pit Kolodinsky, educational psychology professor, both from NAU-Yuma, along with Martha Davis from the Lee County Behavioral Health Services, will be doing a poster session titled, "Adolescents Perceive Time Passing More Slowly Than Do Younger and Older Adults," at the 19th annual Association for Psychological Science conference in Washington D.C. in May.
