- David Schlosberg, professor of political science, has just published his latest book, Defining Environmental Justice: Theories, Movements and Nature, with Oxford University Press.
- Guy Senese, professor of educational foundations and leadership in the College of Education, has a new book coming out in September. Throwing Voices: Five Autoethnographies on Postradical Education and the Fine Art of Misdirection examines the relationship between the language of educational theory and the conditions of life and labor among the public.
In the book, Senese looks at the areas of critical race theory and New Orleans jazz, the ethical worlds of auto sales against that of public educators, the relationship of cultural and social class in Navajo community schooling evaluation, the inspiration of social critic and comic Lenny Bruce to a story of academic freedom, and the worlds of state education boards against a backdrop of the early Chicago poetry slams.
