Red, white and NAU blue

Slip on your NAU blue T-shirt and head out to show your support for campus, community and country by marching with NAU in the Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce's 11th annual Independence Day Parade.

"Marching in the parade is easy and fun for the whole family," said Molly Munger, director of Community Affairs.

Faculty, staff and students, along with alumni, family and friends are invited to join NAU along the mile-long parade route in downtown Flagstaff.

The parade begins at 10 a.m. July 4 in staging area B in lineup number 2 on Sullivan Street between Beaver and Leroux Streets. Please arrive by 9:30 a.m.

"It's a day to have fun and enjoy," Munger said. "We'll provide the water and we welcome pets, bicyclists, strollers, roller blades and unicycles. We can even offer an option to ride on the NAU shuttle bus that will be in the parade."

Munger said she expects about 150 NAU parade participants. An NAU float will feature the university's "The Difference That Matters" marketing campaign against a hand-made backdrop of university landmarks and the San Francisco Peaks.

Raffle tickets for prizes will be distributed to people who march with NAU. Prizes include membership to the NAU Recreation Center, membership to the Wall Aquatic Center, lunch for two at the Inn at NAU and a $50 gift certificate to the NAU Bookstore.
