Summer session numbers up Northern Arizona University's undergraduate enrollment for summer session climbed 9.6 percent this year to 4,124 students. Total summer enrollment, including both graduate and undergraduate students, grew 4.3 percent to 8,011 students. The number of students taking online summer classes rose almost 20 percent from last summer to 1,221 students. The number of juniors attending summer sessions jumped 17.8 percent to 1,179 students, and the number of incoming freshmen grew 14.1 percent to 453 students. "These summer enrollments are more evidence that students appreciate the options and experiences NAU provides," said Fred Hurst, vice president for extended programs. "We've increased the availability of more web courses for students to take no matter where they are spending their summer, and implemented concerted marketing efforts about what NAU offers, both at university and college levels." Hurst said record enrollments from NAU's academic year also are adding to its summer enrollment success. |
