- KNAU General Manager John Stark has been re-elected to National Public Radio’s board of directors. It is Stark’s second three-year term on the board, where he is vice chair of the finance and administration committee. NPR is an internationally acclaimed producer and distributor of noncommercial news, talk and entertainment programming. A privately supported, not-for-profit membership organization, NPR serves a growing audience of 26 million Americans each week in partnership with more than 800 independently operated, noncommercial public radio stations. Stark has managed KNAU since 1993.
- Recent graduate Keith Campbell is the winner of Queen Creek's logo contest for its long-anticipated Horseshoe Park and Equestrian Centre. Campbell, who graduated with a visual communication degree in 2005, moved to Chandler in June and is trying to put his visual communication degree to use. So with some motherly encouragement, he entered the contest. His logo, featuring a horse and the San Tan Mountains within a horseshoe, was the first choice of the Queen Creek Town Council. - Mary I. Dereshiwsky, associate professor of educational leadership, had an article, "How to Spruce Up Your Online Teaching Skills This Summer," published in the July issue of E-LERN, the monthly newsletter of the Learning Resources Network.
