New publication puts NAU as one A new college guidebook from Kaplan Publishing lists NAU as one of 25 cutting-edge schools tied to several of the 50 "hottest career choices." Kaplan, which produces education and business trade publications and offers various courses on test preparation, singled out NAU in You Are Here: A Guide to over 380 Colleges and Unlimited Paths to Your Future. NAU's undergraduate programs in criminal justice, nursing and engineering are among those programs that feed into the publication's ranking of today's hottest careers. The guidebook touts NAU's reputation as having "many of the features of a large university, but still manages to feel small," and offers detailed information on NAU's student life, academics, extracurricular activities and more. Yvette Romero, public relations director for Kaplan Publishing, said the careers were chosen using U.S. Department of Labor data and through surveys of high school students about what careers interested them or that they planned to pursue. "The schools were chosen based on whether they offered an undergraduate program in one of the 50 'hottest' careers, while also pairing up the careers with schools that may not be on prospective students' radar," Romero said. Information about Kaplan's You Are Here is available online. |
