Kids for Conservation booth plants seeds for future ecologists From butterflies and porta-potty races to driving solar cars and making pipe cleaner critters, children will have fun while learning at the Kids for Conservation booth at the Coconino County Fair from Aug. 31 - Sept. 3. This is NAU's School of Forestry fourth year for hosting Kids for Conservation, known for its free, hands-on adventures focusing on environmental education, conservation and natural resources. "Kids will have a chance to learn about water conservation, forestry, solar power, archaeology, birds, wildlife and environmental ethics," said Marty Lee, a professor in the school of forestry. "This is a great partnership between NAU, local organizations and the fair in building a sense of community and educating kids of all ages about the natural environment and conservation." Conservation for Kids will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fair hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. |
