NAU among the best at graduating minority students Northern Arizona University ranks first in the nation in producing Native American master's degrees, according to a recently released report from Diverse Issues in Higher Education magazine. In its annual report that recognizes institutions that have conferred the largest number of degrees to minority students, Diverse Issues also ranked NAU sixth in the nation for graduating Native Americans with bachelor's degrees and 61st in the nation for graduating Latinos with bachelor's degrees. "Northern Arizona University remains committed to enhancing the academic experiences of a diverse student body," said David Bousquet, vice president for enrollment management and student affairs. "These rankings are the result of a universitywide effort to improve the recruitment and retention of Native American students and our commitment to global engagement and creating a culture of inclusion." The rankings are based on the 2005-06 academic years, which is the most recent data available from the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics. The magazine also reports on the top 100 schools where minorities earn bachelor's and master's degrees by disciplines, and NAU earned some notable rankings: Bachelor's Degrees
