Gold Axe applications due Oct. 10

The Office of Student Life is asking faculty and staff mentors to encourage outstanding graduating seniors to apply for the Gold Axe Award by Oct. 10 at 5 p.m.

The Gold Axe Award is presented each semester to seniors who have made outstanding contributions to the university in academic performance, service and extracurricular activities.

"Because it is such a prestigious and highly recognized award, most recipients list this honor on their resume throughout their professional career," said Kevin Gemoets, coordinator in the Office of Student Life.

Applications can be downloaded from the Student Life web site, and can be submitted in one of four ways:

  • By mail to NAU Office of Student Life, Box 6015, Flagstaff, AZ 86011
  • In person at the Office of Student Life, University Union room 105
  • By fax: (928) 523-1425
  • As an e-mail attachment to Kevin.Gemoets@nau.edu

Students selected to receive the Gold Axe Award will be honored at a reception Nov. 14, where they will recieve a certificate and a custom gold-plated lapel pin in the shape of an axe.
