SAE awards keep rolling in for NAU senior

Northern Arizona University senior Lauren McIntire of Tucson is racing down the home stretch of her undergrad career, racking up a multitude of awards from the Society of Automotive Engineers.

Most recently, McIntire won the SAE Collegiate Chapters Outstanding Student Officer Award for 2007. She was one of 24 students selected for the honor.

An environmental engineering major, McIntire has been active in the SAE international student chapter for the past four years. She served as vice chair in 2005-06 and chair in 2006-07. She was selected for the SAE Leadership Development Program in 2006 and won an SAE Long Term Member Sponsored Scholarship for the 2006-07 academic year. This past summer, McIntire was selected for the Washington Internships for Students of Engineering program in Washington, D.C., ranked as one of the nation's best internships by the Princeton Review.

McIntire plans to graduate in May.
