Health Psychology Center accepting clients NAU's Health Psychology Center is accepting new clients for education, evaluation and treatment of a variety of health-related illnesses and conditions. Some conditions clients may be seen for include specific phobias, circulatory problems, asthma, headaches, emphysema, sleep problems, gastrointestinal problems, smoking cessation, post-operative and recovery, weight loss, arthritic pain, skin problems, PMS, risk factors in heart disease, stress-related problems, cancer, chronic pain, high blood pressure and management of diabetes or other health problems. The center also provides bilingual diagnosis, assessment and treatment planning for children ages 2 to 10, with and without disabilities who are exhibiting challenging behavior, such as communication problems, impulsive behavior, tantrums, aggressive behavior and self-injurious behavior, as well as parent and caregiver education. Services are available to NAU faculty, staff and students as well as community members. Treatment methods include biofeedback, hypnosis, lifestyle behavior change and wellness skills, stress management and cognitive behavioral therapy. The Health Psychology Center is open Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The clinic offers a sliding fee scale. Contact: (928) 523-2161. |
