Meningitis update

The NAU student who is suspected to have bacterial meningitis remains in fair condition at Flagstaff Medical Center today.

No new cases have been reported, and individuals who were in close contact with the student have been treated with antibiotics.

Anyone with the symptoms of high fever, severe headache, stiff neck, rash, nausea and vomiting should seek immediate medical attention.

The university is continuing to monitor the situation in close liaison with the Coconino County Health Department and Flagstaff Medical Center to respond to, treat and prevent the spread of this disease.
