KNAU wins seven Murrow awards

KNAU has won seven Edward R. Murrow Journalism Awards in the five-state Intermountain West Region. 

For the second consecutive year, KNAU was singled out for Overall News Excellence. Other awards include:

Best Series: Poverty with a View

Continuing Coverage: Helicopter Crash over Flagstaff

Best Writing: reporter Gillian Ferris Kohl

Best Use of Sound: Experts Say ATV Deaths are Preventable, by reporter Laurel Morales

Best Feature: Flagstaff's Real Life School of Rock!, by reporter Gillian Ferris Kohl

Sports Coverage: Arizona man attempts to become first paraplegic climber to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro,

The winning entries will now compete against other regional winners for National Murrow awards to be presented in June.
