A scholarly symposium on border issues Insights from National and International Borderlands Studies will be discussed as part of the university’s New Directions in Diversity Symposium from 9 to 11 a.m. April 10 in the University Union, Havasupai A-B. The symposium is sponsored by the Office of the President and presented by Ethnic Studies and the Faculty Development Program to engage faculty in an interdisciplinary forum to impact the teaching and scholarly work faculty pursue. Leaders for the session include session moderator Sara Alemán, director for Ethnic Studies; panelists Monica Brown, associate professor, Department of English; Susan Deeds, professor, Department of History; and Chad Hamill, assistant professor, School of Music.
