Revised travel policy begins

NAU has implemented a revised policy for travel after Aug. 10.

Changes to the policy include a decrease in the amount eligible for an advance from 85 percent to 80 percent to align with state policy. It also states that two airfare comparisons are no longer required, and travel refresher courses will only be required once per year.

Visit the Comptroller’s Office policy web site to view the new travel policy, a pre-travel reimbursement process example and an overview of changes.

Although changes to the policy are relatively minor, classes that review the changes will be available. These classes will only go over changes to the policy, not the entire travel policy. If you are behind in your travel refresher training, you should complete an actual refresher training class before the “only once per year” refresher class requirement. You will receive an e-mail if you are behind.

Classes will be held in Gammage 107 and will last 90 minutes. Class dates and times are  9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24; 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2; and 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8.

If you have additional questions or plan on attending a training session, contact Gerry Barela at (928) 523-6064 or Rosanna Ruiz at (928) 523-6232.
