Conference on campus to highlight green jobs, technology and policy

Innovative technology, renewable energy policies and green jobs will be the focus of the 2009 Southwest Renewable Energy Conference, Sept. 10 and 11 at the High Country Conference Center.

The conference is a forum for renewable energy developers, policymakers and researchers to share developments in technology and policy related to wind, solar, biomass and geothermal energy on tribal, federal, state and private land.

This year’s theme, “Integrating State and Federal Policy with Technology to bring Renewables to the Grid,” will be featured in a variety of sessions and panel discussions about renewable policies and technical issues, offering participants options to fit their own professional development interests.

NAU is hosting the conference, which will include presentations from members of its Arizona Wind Working Group. 

The conference also will include a series of introductory workshops to cover the fundamentals of various renewable energy sources and a post-conference public “Green Jobs” session and panel discussion on clean energy workforce training and career development.
