NAUreads brings a common experience
to first-year NAU students
Faculty and staff are invited to join the largest book club in northern Arizona. All first-year NAU students are invited to read the same book and participate in conversations about it, providing them with a common experience as they begin their educational journey. This year’s selection is Enrique’s Journey by Sonia Nazario.
To get involved as a book discussion facilitator on Sept. 23-24, schedule a classroom presentation with the author, or serve on a panel to discuss films related to the book, contact Rebecca.Campbell@nau.edu. Watch the video below, created by NAU's
e-Learning Center, to learn more about the NAUreads program.
On Monday, Aug. 10, Honduran pastor Rigo Rigas kicks off the discussions at the NAU Campus Ministry Center, behind Cline Library. At noon, Rigas will discuss the accuracy and issues presented in Enrique’s Journey. Lunch will be available. At 6 p.m. he will discuss Honduran culture and politics.
For information on these two events, e-mail naucm@yahoo.com or call (928) 774-1572.
