Forum to feature discussion on health care reform

Northern Arizona University and North Country HealthCare are sponsoring “A Conversation about Health Care Reform,” featuring health care experts and an NAU professor of politics and international affairs.

The forum will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, in the NAU Cline Library Assembly Hall. It is free and open to the public and will feature a question-and-answer session.

NAU professor Paul Dutton, director of NAU’s Interdisciplinary Health Policy Institute, will be the moderator.  “There will certainly be some sharp disagreements between our panelists and, no doubt, between audience participants,” Dutton said. “But we are calling the forum a ‘conversation’ in hopes that this event will also be a place where Flagstaff can find common ground on what to do about the crisis that faces our community and the nation.”

On the panel will be Eric Henley, medical director of the Central Region for North Country HealthCare; Douglas Paget, senior associate for the Medical Affairs Division, W.L. Gore; Kimberly VanPelt, associate director for Research and Policy, St. Luke’s Health Initiatives; and Jacqueline Vaughn, NAU professor of politics and international affairs.

Take a road trip without leaving campus
Designed to take people on a visual journey of the historic highway, Cline Library's "Route 66 in Arizona: Don't Forget Winona!" exhibit brings together vintage photography, postcards, maps, signs, old car parts and a chunk of Route 66 asphalt, to bring the "Mother Road" to life.
