APS gift kick-starts project
to enhance STEM teaching

Northern Arizona University President John Haeger, right, accepts a $250,000 gift from David Falck, executive vice president and general counsel for APS, during Sept. 29’s football game in the Skydome. Kathy Hildebrand, director of NAU’s Center for Science Teaching and Learning, will be using the funds to launch the STEM Focus for the Future program.

This program will establish 12 public schools that will enhance teacher preparation in STEM subjects—science, technology, engineering and math.
