Brown bag lunch series: NAU's Dr. Lori Poloni-Staudinger
lectures of global warming and politics |
"Two of the most significant international environmental
agreements of recent years include the Montreal Protocol (ozone)
and the Kyoto Protocol (global warming). Many ask why agreement
was easier for ozone than for global warming. This talk will
focus on the differences between the two issues that impacted the
ease of agreement. In addition, it has recently been
suggested that the implementation of the Montreal Protocol may
actually be contributing to global warming. This controversy will
be explored throughout the discussion." |
