Lydia Scheer - Training Coordinator




Lydia Scheer Lydia Scheer joined the ITEP staff full-time in 1999, after more than one year working as a student assistant with the AIAQTP. She works with the AIAQTP program helping to plan, coordinate, develop and deliver air quality training courses. She is the coordinator of the AIAQTP Professional Assistance program that assists tribal professionals with meeting their individualized training needs. She also coordinates the undergraduate credit program for some of the training courses. Lydia designs and maintains several databases for the AIAQTP that function to track training course participants and instructors, as well as the Native Voices mailing list.

Lydia serves as the lead instructor for the ITEP course, "Air Pollution Technology," and assists with instruction in the "Air Monitoring Data Management" and "Air Quality Computations" training courses as well.

Lydia graduated from Northern Arizona University with a BA in Anthropology (emphases: Linguistics and Spanish). She has also spent time working with the International Refugee Center of Oregon, tutoring refugees in job and English skills.

Lydia was raised in Northern Arizona and has a strong appreciation for the natural beauty of the region. She has a twin sister and two charming little girls. She also enjoys cooking, listening to a wide variety of music, and spending time outdoors.
