ITEP Staff Bio:
Pat Ellsworth - Program Manager - AIAQTP

Pat Ellsworth I am a freshwater biologist with a doctorate from the University of Colorado. I have taught as an adjunct professor at Southern Oregon State University, Prescott College, Yavapai College, and NAU. My work with Native Americans began when I served five summers as core faculty and mentor for high school students attending summer science/math programs at NAU. My work with the Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals (ITEP) began in November 1992. Since then I have served as Curriculum Coordinator for the American Indian Air Quality Training Program (AIAQTP) at ITEP. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) provides funding for the AIAQTP so that training in air quality management is available to tribal staff throughout the U.S. ITEP is associated with the College of Engineering and Technology and my faculty appointment is in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. I often look at the sky, wondering "How's the air quality today?" and "Is this a good day to be outdoors?"

In "the rest of my life" -- I am married with 3 adult children (two are living in the Washington, DC area and one is in the Peace Corps in Honduras.) My husband is retired from 28 years as a classroom teacher in the public schools. We enjoy hiking, backpacking, movies, and spending time with family.
