In 2001, ITEP helped support an effort at Northern Arizona University to complete a report for the Western Regional Air Partnership's Air Pollution Prevention Forum titled "Generating Electricity from Renewable Resources in Indian Country: Recommendations to Tribal Leaders from the Western Regional Air Partnership." This 62-page report contains a variety of useful information for tribes investigating renewable energy generation. An extensive list of renewable energy resources is found in Appendix B.

  • Tribal Energy Program, U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy:
    This office provides financial and technical assistance to tribes for feasibility studies and shares the cost of implementing sustainable renewable energy installations on tribal lands.
