Course Description:
This course will focus on the impact of air pollution on the total environment. Participants will be introduced to concepts of atmospheric deposition, transport of air pollution, and effects of air pollution on ecosystems.

Topics include:

  • Pollutants of concern, including mercury, nitrogen, and pesticides

  • Transport of air pollutants

  • Atmospheric deposition

  • National programs and initiatives

Who Should Attend:
This course is open to tribal environmental professionals who are interested in understanding how air pollutants impact ecosystems. Applicants should have completed ITEP's "Introduction to Tribal Air Quality" course or have sufficient background knowledge of basic air quality concepts.

Course Structure and Approach:
This course will use a variety of methods to introduce topics, including lectures, discussions, and small group activities. Completion of a pre-course assignment will be required prior to attending the course.
