AIAQTP Training - Emissions Inventory/TEISS (Level 3)

Course Description:
This course will expand knowledge of the Emissions Inventory (EI) through examination of the regulatory framework and practice in collecting and managing EI data. It will also introduce tribal professionals to the Tribal Emissions Inventory Software Solution (TEISS) tool that is utilized to help tribes complete an EI.

Topics include:

  • Emission Inventory overview

  • Inventory Preparation Plans (IPPs)

  • EI regulatory structure

  • Examining EI data needs and uses

  • Managing EI data

  • Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures for EIs

  • National Emission Inventory (NEI)

  • EI calculations and reporting

Who Should Attend:
Tribal environmental managers and technical personnel who have successfully completed ITEP’s Air Pollution Technology course, and have an EI task in their current workplan. Basic computer skills are required.

Course Structure and Approach:
This course takes a "learn-by-doing" approach. Hands-on practice using the TEISS tool and example EI data will be interspersed with lectures. There will be a field trip during the course. Time will also be allotted for participants to start their own TEISS project during the course; participants should bring a USB flash memory drive to the course.

Pre-Requisites:
  • Introduction to Tribal Air Quality (or equivalent experience)

  • Air Quality Computations (or equivalent experience)

  • Air Pollution Technology (or equivalent experience)
