What is an emission inventory?
An EI is a listing, by source, of air pollutant emissions associated with a specific geographic area for a specific time interval.
Examples:
1. Larger reservation
Specific geographic area: Nez Perce Tribe
Specific time interval: 2005
List of sources: All on-reservation point sources, all significant on-reservation area sources, non-road and on-road mobile sources, all off-reservation point sources within 50 miles of reservation.
Air pollutant emissions: Criteria pollutants and air toxics.
2. Smaller reservation
Specific geographic area: Bishop Paiute Reservation
Specific time interval: 2001
List of sources: Area sources: on reservation road dust and residential fuel combustion, all off-reservation point sources within 50 miles of reservation, off-reservation on-road mobile sources.
Air pollutant emissions: Criteria pollutants and air toxics.
TURN IN 1a.: Write down the geographic area, time interval and pollutants you want to cover for your reservation's EI. Submit to instructor or to a bulletin board. Go to Bulletin Board.
